Baroque Cusco and Viceroyalty Noon Tour

What Will We Do?

Start your tour by visiting the Church of the Society of Jesus, a Catholic church located in the Plaza de Armas. This impressive monument combines unique features, such as its Gothic style, and is one of the most beautiful and significant in the Americas. Next, walk to the Convent of Santa Catalina, built primarily of adobe and stone over the foundations of an Inca acllahuasi (a cloister for Inca princesses who worshiped the sun). The tour continues to the Museum of Religious Art, which houses an extensive collection of colonial religious paintings, the most complete of the Cusco School. On the outer foundations, you can see the famous Twelve-Angle Stone, an icon of Inca architecture in Cusco. Following this, you will head to Hatun Rumiyoq, which means “great rock” in Quechua. This green diorite stone wall, located on the street of the same name, is a popular spot for tourists to take photos alongside this impressive work. Along Hatun Rumiyoq Street, you will also observe immense colonial houses and buildings dating back to the viceroyalty era, making it one of the most tourist-friendly streets in Cusco.
